Guess who's back... back again.

After Bruno failed to live up to the hype (or box office grosses) set by Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen has been lying low recently, alternating between voiceover work or supporting turns in ensemble movies like Martin Scorsese's Hugo. But with The Dictator, he's returning to center stage... albeit this time with more of a script. Directed by Larry Charles, The Dictator casts Cohen as General Aladeen, the militaristic despot who runs the fictional Middle Eastern nation of Wadiya with an iron grip. Coming to America to deliver a speech in front of the United Nations, Aladeen is kidnapped in the middle of the night by covert agents and is summarily stripped of his identity and his bushy beard. In his shorn state, Aladeen somehow befriends liberal vegan Zoey (Anna Faris) and, we assume, learns how to be a better person and/or dictator. We're not feeling hugely confident about this one to be honest, but it's entirely possible that the movie will be funnier than the early clips have indicated.
