I think it's better for everyone if I just come out and admit that I am a food voyeur. I watch the Food Network like horny teenagers watch porn. Plop me in front of a
Barefoot Contessa marathon and I'm rapt for hours on end. So you'll forgive me if I'm inordinately excited about the new lineup of shows that the Most Delicious Channel has announced. According to a press release, the new slew of shows will include:

We had thought that we were going to spend our summer delighting in seeing Cat Deeley on a fresh program and watching Kelly Clarkson be her adorable self, but their respective new reality shows turned out to be duds. So instead we've turned our attention to some other series that may not generate quite as much buzz, but still fill our mindless summer reality needs (kinda like these shows from the dog days of winter). They all have a charm that Snooki and JWOWW's stale act severely lacks, and are a nice companion to keep us and our DVRs busy now that So You Think You Can Dance is only on one night a week.

If by "fun" you mean, "copyright infringement." And I know you do, you thievin' thieves! Anyway, the peeps over at the Food Network apparently had some meetings where they decided
The Next Food Network Star isn't nearly blatant enough, because
they've put out a casting call for a new competitive cooking show. It's basically
Top Chef with fewer contestants and likely no Tom Colicchio hotness (don't judge me!).
"Food Network is currently casting for a new cooking competition series and is looking for professional chefs, who want to test their culinary skills against those of their peers. Four competitors will race against the clock; their food judged on taste, creativity, and presentation by the experts. Three are eliminated along the way, and only one remains the ultimate winner."
