Saturday Night Live: The Best and Worst of Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga and her giant, unblinking eyes served as both host and musical guest on this weekend's Saturday Night Live. The main themes of the episode seemed to be Gaga poking fun of herself poking fun at other celebrities, and who could forget (no, really, just try and scrub it from your memory), simulating sex with R. Kelly on live television. She was, unsurprisingly, an enthusiastic performer and gave her first hosting effort her best (she's appeared as a musical guest and had cameos on the show before), but the episode still provided way more moments of discomfort than actual laughs, not to mention all the mixed messages. Was she actually showing us her true colors, or as she suggested in the opening monologue, just pandering to all of us? Either way, it worked, because Gaga earned season-high ratings. Here are the best and worst moments from her episode:

Saturday Night Live: Gaga for Lady Gaga

In comparison with last week's season premiere, this week's Ryan Reynolds-hosted episode was a vast improvement. Lady Gaga appeared as musical guest (and got some screen time in sketches), while Madonna, Elijah Wood, and Reynolds' wife Scarlett Johansson also made the SNL rounds.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Everything Old is New Again

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Everything Old is New Again

I must admit something right off the bat: I've never been the biggest fan of Jimmy Fallon as a late night talk show host. I know, I know, that's like saying puppies are overrated and ice cream is a sub-par dessert. I'm of the minority and I realize that. Let me clarify that I actually thought Fallon's Late Night was a fun, hip (The Roots rule all!!) and modern (the guy knows his viral-friendly audience) show, but Fallon's interviewing style of fawning and giggling over every single guest always hit the wrong nerve with me. Again, I realize that Fallon doesn't have the gravitas as Letterman, nor the politics of Stewart and Colbert, but I like my hosts more edgy and daring than agreeable and starstruck, and the squeaky-clean Fallon most certainly ain't that.

TWoP 10: So You Think You Can Dance Guest Judges

On this season of So You Think You Can Dance, a famous face has graced the judging panel for every live show. Overall, we were impressed by the quality of these mostly articulate celebs who seemed to be genuine fans of the franchise and who were able to actually spout opinions instead of just clap like seals. So we've ranked the special guests (though not the choreographers who were plucked to be on the panel, because we'd never be able to decide between Lil 'C and Travis Wall) to determine who was the best this summer.

The World According to… Anyone But Paris

We're not sure that anyone actually demanded an inside look at Paris Hilton's life, but nevertheless, Oxygen is rolling out The World According to Paris this week. To be honest, we'll probably tune in only because we think she's strangely fascinating and, whether you like it or not, extremely talented in the art of self-promotion (for example: a show called The World According to Paris airing on Oxygen). But with that said, there are plenty of other celebrities that we would've rather seen as the focus of a series like this. Here's just a few:
