New Girl: The Do’s and Don’ts of Partying with Prince

New Girl: The Do’s and Don’ts of Partying with Prince

I wanted to believe that the post-Super Bowl, Prince-guest starring episode of New Girl would be good. After all, the show has been on a little bit of a hot streak after a very dismal start to Season 3 and because Prince is Prince so everything he touches is magic. Unfortunately, not even the magic touch of Prince (which was, by far, the highlight of the episode) could save this from feeling like a forced and overwhelmingly unfunny episode. (That said, Jake Johnson's high-pitched scream after Prince allowed him to freak out, was a thing of comedy beauty.)

Princesses: Long Island: The Worst Lines of the Premiere

I can't imagine anyone went into Bravo's Princesses: Long Island expecting anything other than what we saw in the pilot, aptly titled, "You Had Me at Shalom." I mean, surely Bravo only settled on name after the FCC shot down just plain calling the series JAPS, right? (That would explain why there are a few non-Jewish women shoehorned in there.) Rather than go so far as to dignify these ladies with no firm grasp on reality with individual reactionary descriptions, or the network for so brazenly perpetuating ugly stereotypes, let's just talk about the very worst lines of the pilot and call it a day.

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This Week

We're hard-pressed to decide if the most annoying habit on reality TV right now is Frederik (Million Dollar Listing) doing high kicks when he makes a deal, or Bear Grylls (Get Out Alive) stalking people with binoculars and then telling them they need to be better about eating maggots. Either way, they both drive us crazy but neither of them are as horrible as these people.

Doctor Who Gets Royally Dissed

Doctor Who Gets Royally Dissed

I'm sure that Prince Charles is a busy guy. Doing something. Not entirely sure exactly what since I've never really understood the whole modern royal thing. Like they don't rule the country, they are just basically figureheads, right? But he's got too much on his plate to stop by Doctor Who for a cameo appearance. What could be a better way to spread national identity and pride (someone spent too much time on royal.gov) than appearing on an episode of a fantastically fun and wild time traveling sci-fi series? Appeal to the geeks of the world. Show them you've got a sense of humor. He's probably afraid they would make him play an alien or something (leaders on that show don't tend to fare too well). Is there an alien species that has good hearing? That could explain those ears. But the Prince declined. Who EP Russell T. Davies responded by jokingly (I think) calling him "a miserable swine."

Trailer Previews: Death Kisses, Dark Knight and Keanu Barada Nikto A handful of trailers and other filmic appetizers have come out for the holiday weekend, hoping to grab their share of movie-goers' attention some time between the third round of hotdogs and passing out on the sofa. You could hoist yourself up and head out to see a new release in the theater, during which you might see some of these new trailers, but sit back and relax. I've got them right here, within easy reach of your antacids and favorite pillow.
