Project Runway: Our Hopes for Season 10

Project Runway: Our Hopes for Season 10

We still can't believe how much we loved Project Runway All Stars, to the point that we're kind of bummed that Isaac Mizrahi, Georgina Chapman, Joanna Coles and Angela Lindvall won't be around this season. Much as we enjoyed Season 9 (not to mention the fact that we'd never turn down more Tim Gunn in our lives), we're a little worried that the show will now fall the way of other reality competitions that lost stamina after an all-star season (looking at you, Top Chef). Here's what we're hoping that the powers that be at Lifetime bring to the runway this season:

Project Runway: Tears Behind the Scenes

Project Runway: Tears Behind the Scenes

I wasn't going to watch the Behind the Seams special, since I was already over this season of Project Runway, but the power of Tim Gunn compelled me.

Seven Reasons Project Runway Doesn’t Need to Be 90 Minutes Long

I enjoy Project Runway and intend to watch every single episode until the show eventually ends, but starting next season, I might be watching with my finger on the fast-forward button. The show is going to extend from an hour-long into ninety minutes. That's too long for regular episodes. For the premiere and the finale? Sure, make them that long. Heck, make those two hours, but weekly? Even if it is moving to 9 PM at night instead of 10 PM, that's a lot to ask. And I have a hard time believing that there are people who sent complaints that the show was too short, Heidi. No matter how much you'd like me to believe that. Here's why we're dreading it:

A Debate Regarding the Project Runway Finale

A Debate Regarding the Project Runway Finale As we've established before, what you choose to watch on TV speaks volumes about the kind of person you are. And last night last night's programming dilemma definitely separated the men from the boys, or the girls from the boys, or the straight boys from the gays or what have you. You see, it was both the third and final presidential debate and the Project Runway finale. What to watch? If you're like me and don't own a home DVR (for shame, I know, but I'm working on it!) it entails running back and forth between the TVs in the living room and the bedroom, which kept the tensions high at the old Gitlin domicile last night, but provided the unforeseen benefit of a serious cardio workout.

TWoP 10 Worst Project Runway Guest Judges Ever

TWoP 10 Worst Project Runway Guest Judges Ever

Project Runway may have attracted quite a few fabulous guest judges over the years (Diane von Furstenberg! Zac Posen! Betsy Johnson! OMG!), but just like any other hit show, it's not immune to the allure of pointless stuntcasting sometimes. We understand they gotta pay the bills somehow, but the following Runway guest judges just have no business being anywhere near the fashion industry whatsoever.

Models of the Runway Should Keep on Walking

Models of the Runway Should Keep on Walking

There are more unnecessary half hours of television on, but I'm sort of hard pressed to name one today. Did someone really think that we were so vested in the model "competition" portion of Project Runway that we needed an entire thirty minutes devoted to it? Presumably, yes.

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This Week

Our hero of the week is Tim Gunn, for being classy while telling several bitter Project Runway contestants off for daring to say the show was fixed. We actually really like him when he's angry.

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV

Trying again to promote the good in humanity, we'd like to give it up to Big Brother's Nick who at least had the decency to be polite and kind to GinaMarie on national television. If he runs and hides in the coming weeks to get away from her… well, let's just say we wouldn't blame him.

Again, we're starting off with some kind thoughts as we learned this week that perpetually awesome hosts Tim Gunn and Cat Deeley were even more awesome than we had previously believed. First, it was revealed that Cat was responsible for the amazing Jasmine making it to the Top 20 (well deserved!) and then we watched Tim Gunn delicately diffuse a potentially volatile situation with Ken without even breaking a sweat. Both are total pros.

We were grossed out watching Jacqueline have chunks of her skin removed on Real Housewives of New Jersey, but we can't really blame the skin for that, only the faceless editors. Instead, there are these real people who are just as disgusting, with some extra bonus horribleness this week.
