New York Comic Con 2013: Pete Holmes After Hours

Conan O'Brien has been TBS's main man in late night for three years now, but he's still searching for the Colbert/Ferguson to follow his Stewart/Letterman. And it looks like he may have found him in the super-tall form of comedian and podcaster, Pete Holmes. The Pete Holmes Show, a 30-minute chaser following the hour-long Conan, hits the airwaves on October 28 at midnight. Holmes stopped by the New York Comic Con recently to discuss adapting his popular podcast to the airwaves and to play a very special round of F/M/K.

New York Comic Con 2013: Mob City Brings L.A. Noir to Your Living Room

Film noir ain't just for the big screen anymore. The Frank Darabont-created, TNT-backed L.A. gangster tale, Mob City is setting itself up to be one of the holiday's season's big-ticket items, airing its six-part first season in two weekly installments over three weeks, starting December 4. Three of the show's impressive ensemble cast -- Milo Ventimiglia, Robert Knepper and Ed Burns -- came to NYCC with guns blazing to talk up this cross between L.A. Confidential and The Godfather.

New York Comic Con 2013: Beauty and the Beast and Reign Stars Talk Love and History

The ridiculously attractive stars and the creators of The CW's Beauty and the Beast and Reign met the press at this past weekend's New York Comic Con and here's some of what they had to say:

NY Comic Con 2009: Chuck vs. The Press Room

Before Chuck creators Josh Schwartz, Chris Fedak and the sublimely stunning Yvonne Strahovski headed down to the Comic Con floor to do their panel in front of a room teeming with fans, they spent a few minutes in a much smaller room with a handful of reporters hyping the show and the upcoming episodes. With good reason, based on the flashy trailer for the rest of the season that they presented. It looks pretty much awesome. Even Capt. Awesome will be duly impressed. Lots of guns, girls, spy games and a really awkward situation between Big Mike and Morgan. I'm pretty psyched. While we only had a few minutes with the trio before they were whisked away, here's the intel we were able to ascertain.

Triumph Over Comic Con

Triumph Over Comic Con

You guys, guess what else happened at Comic Con! Triumph the Insult Comic Dog gave the "mouth breathers" and "n00bs" in attendance a big ol' helping of gleeful name-calling, and there's video to prove it! They may have been laughing while they were there, but you know they so cried into their hypoallergenic Boba Fett pillows that night. Well, laughed and cried, like a scene from some alternate nerd version of Patch Adams. You know, people might not have hated that movie so much if his clown nose were also a light saber. Well! I'm just saying! Clips below!

Second Coming Coming to Comic Con

Second Coming Coming to Comic Con Have you ever seen those "WWJD?" bracelets or bumper stickers and wondered, "What would Jesus really do?" Well, at long last, I've found the answer to the question that has weighed on the minds of philosophers, theologians and crafty religious merchandisers alike. As it turns out, Jesus would go to Comic-Con. Jesus Christ, like many other superstars in "the biz", will be out promoting his movie at the multimedia convention in San Diego later this month.

Chuck: Causing Chaos at Comic-Con

Chuck: Causing Chaos at Comic-Con

Yesterday I ranted about how disappointed I was about the Star Wars panel that G4 decided to air on TV as the first ever Comic-Con panel to be broadcast, and griped that maybe some other more deserving panels could have been chosen. Then the nice folks at NBC (who sign my paycheck) decided to put up the Chuck panel on Hulu so I could see the whole thing. Well, mostly. The intro song by Jeffster! was cut (you can watch it here) most likely because of music rights. Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" probably doesn't come cheap.

Comic-Con 2009: The Star Wars Panel

Comic-Con 2009: The Star Wars Panel

So G4 made a big deal this weekend about the fact that they were airing a panel from the San Diego Comic-Con on TV. It was a landmark event. Or something. I mean, in theory it's cool for us poor schmucks who don't get a chance to go to Comic-Con, but maybe this panel wasn't the one to start with. I get why they did it -- the mega-Star Wars franchise has been a part of Comic-Con since the '70s -- but now that there aren't any Star Wars movies coming out, they're pretty boring. I had the (dis)pleasure of sitting through one at the New York Comic-Con, and it had about 10 minutes of entertainment (in the form of the Robot Chicken guys) and 50 minutes of snooze-inducing content (everything else). That didn't bode well for this two-hour special.
