Well Hung

Well Hung I've been giggling about the premise of the new HBO series Hung all morning. Basically it is about a middle-aged man with a bigger than average member who walks softly and decides to use his big stick to get further in life. I'm snickering like a 13-year-old boy instead of the 30-something-year-old woman that I am. Oh no, what if his last name is Johnson. Wait, better yet, what if his name is Dick Johnson. Oh god, that would be so incredible. Sadly, I can't stop myself from laughing, and it is really, depressing because I'm all alone here at TWoP HQ today. So I'm giggling to myself and coming up with lame penis-related jokes. Real mature. Anyway, my excitement and laughter finally died down when I got past the premise and read that one of the masterminds of this um, probing new project was the same guy who created The Riches. Damn it. Such interesting source material from the one person who can make it so boring that I want to gouge my eyes out. Sigh.

Community: Season 4 Status Report

When last we saw the members of Greendale Community College's most insular study group, they had all overcome great (and not so great) odds to achieve some small measure of happiness. Jeff literally had his day in court, giving him back his legal swagger and the impetus to ace his biology final; Troy ended the reign of terror within Greendale's Air Conditioning Repair Annex; Abed gave in to the dark side (a.k.a. Evil Abed) but found his inner goodness and felt brave enough to dismantle his Dreamatorioum; Britta put her fledgling psychoanalytic skills to the test; Annie... continued to look really cute; and Shirley and Pierce managed to open a sandwich shop in the Greendale cafeteria without killing each other first.

Saturday Night Live: Jennifer Lawrence’s Winners and Losers

Jennifer Lawrence -- newly minted A-list star of The Hunger Games and current Oscar nominee for Silver Linings Playbook -- made her first appearance in the battle arena known as Saturday Night Live over the weekend. And just like her alter ego, Katniss Everdeen, she didn't get off to the smoothest start, botching her opening monologue (the Best Actress smackdown was a decent idea, but Lawrence seemed too nervous to really execute it) and struggling through the first few (admittedly terribly written) sketches. But around the halfway mark, she found her groove and finished strong with some pretty funny material. Here's a rundown on Lawrence's losers and winners:

Saturday Night Live: Play It Loud!

Saturday Night Live: Play It Loud!

Was it just us or was the volume on Saturday night's Saturday Night Live turned up to 11? It wasn't just host Sofia Vergara -- whose general approach to comedy on both SNL and Modern Family seems to be to YELL EVERY PUNCHLINE -- the entire cast was noticeably shouty. As it turned out though, the loudness mostly enhanced the comedy. Here were the night's noisiest (and funniest) skits.

Move over Lady Gaga -- the big name at this year's VMA's is Katniss Everdeen.
