Louis C.K.: Oh My God: Five Jokes That Should Be Louie Sketches

Oh My God isn't the best Louis C.K. standup special thus far, but it's still funny and worth watching (and even worth paying $5 for, when that option opens up). It's also something to fill the void until Louie comes back in Spring 2014 -- we know that C.K. doesn't put the material from his stand-up (especially not the specials) into his FX show, but if you close your eyes and play pretend, it's fun to stage the following jokes from the special in your head with some beloved '90s actors, or what have you:

Louis CK Talks About the Louie Hiatus, and What He’ll Be Eating in the Meantime

In case you haven't heard the news, FX President John Landgraf announced yesterday on a media call that Louie will be taking an extended hiatus and probably not return until the spring 2014. Louis CK fans will be happy to hear that this isn't some kind of Dan Harmon/Community situation where someone is getting removed against their will -- CK personally asked for time off in order to help his creative process. To explain the decision, talk about the future of Louie and reflect on the excellent third season, CK and Landgraf answered some press questions and tried their best not to rub CK's multiple Emmy wins in everyone's faces. Below are the highlights.

Louie: Five Best Moments from the Season 3 Finale

Louie: Five Best Moments from the Season 3 Finale

Much as I really like this show and was happy to see Louis CK take home two Emmys this past week, Louie kind of lost me for a few episodes this season. I mentioned this a couple of months ago, but sometimes the episodes got weird past the point of being actually enjoyable -- not always in a bad way per se, but I need to wait to watch Louie for when my head is clear and I don't have to immediately tune in to something else afterward. I also have mixed feelings about the Late Show arc, but in the interest of time, let's get to "New Year's Eve," an episode that was equal parts great and strange.

Louis C.K. Talks Louie Season 3, His Best Friends and Jerry Seinfeld

Fans of Louis C.K. and his FX sitcom can understand why I can't recommend the series enough; Louie is great. To promote tonight's Season 3 premiere, Louis C.K. took a press call yesterday to answer a few questions about what we'll see in coming episodes. To spare you spoilers and a lot of the same queries about why the character who plays Louie's ex-wife is African American -- hint: it's because she's a talented actress -- I've pulled out the interview highlights, which are entirely free of dick jokes (unfortunately).

Why You Should Be Watching Louie

Why You Should Be Watching Louie

After an excellent sophomore season, the third installment of Louis C.K.'s Louie begins tonight. If you haven't jumped on the Louis C.K. bandwagon yet, now is the time. FX sent out press screeners of the first five episodes of Season 3, and while this evening's episode, "Something Is Wrong," is by no means a series highlight, it's a great introduction to the universe of Louie. What's better is that there's no continuity left over from last season -- though that will be a letdown to Pamela fans, I'm sure -- making it easy to jump right in. Here's what you'll learn from watching the premiere, and what you'll see if you stick around to watch more Louie:

New Year’s Eve-Themed Episodes: A Countdown From 10

10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…rerun! In anticipation for New Year's Eve festivities you can either watch yet another Ryan Seacrest-hosted event with uncomfortable D-list celebrity banter, freezing strangers wishing a "Happy New Year" to other strangers, and pre-recorded performances from pop stars, or you can watch something good. (That said, if this year the clock strikes midnight and the zombie apocalypse unfolds on live television and you're watching one of these old TV episodes instead, we sincerely apologize for making you miss it.)
