Buffy Fights for Europe

Buffy Fights for Europe

The good news: Buffy the Vampire Slayer is getting a new video game for the Nintendo DS. The bad news: right now it's only going to be available in Europe. The weird news: A TV show that went off the air over five years ago is getting a video game release on a major handheld system, and not even in its country of origin. Can they do that?

I mean, Buffy is great and all, but unless it's airing every night in Europe and is suddenly the newest, hottest thing any European has ever seen, isn't it a bit late to be making video games? Even games that may be infinitely better than existing Buffy games? If not, can I request video games from other cancelled TV series? Serenity, for instance? Or The A-Team? Airwolf? MacGyver? Or how about the live-action Tick TV show, since there's only one cartoon-based video game out there, and it sucks? I'm sure Patrick Warburton would do the voice.

For now, though, I'd be happy with Europe's cast-offs. That means the Buffy game, some police-procedural first-person shooter starring Helen Mirren, and Capcom vs. Jerry Lewis.
