Amy Poehler's New Job

by Mindy Monez July 16, 2008 10:58 am
Amy Poehler's New Job Amy Poehler has been added to the cast of the Office spinoff that apparently is in no way an Office spinoff, so please for the love of god stop calling it an Office spinoff. The funny lady (who I guess is leaving SNL now? As much as it pains me, it's time for her to move on) will join comedian Aziz Ansari in Office writers/producers Greg Daniels and Mike Schur's new NBC sitcom, set to premiere next winter in a sexy Thursday night post-Office timeslot.

The details of the show are still being developed and the plot hasn't been leaked yet (that I'm aware of), so for all we know this could be a procedural drama about the Dewey Decimal System or something. But probably not. Aziz and Amy are very funny people, and the great thing about comedians is that they write all their friends into their shows (expect my personal favorite Upright Citizens Brigade alum, the insanely brilliant Ian Roberts, to show up from time to time), and Daniels and Schur certainly know from funny. I'm dying to see who's cast next (Thomas Lennon? Please?!) Dewey Decimal System or not, this thing is definitely going to be worth checking out.
