Why We’re Glad that Melissa George Is Leaving Grey’s Anatomy

Personally I've been over here humming the tune of "Ding, Dong, The Witch Is Dead" in my head since I read the news that pseudo-lesbian Sadie was checking out of Seattle Grace after a very short stint on the show. That Ausiello knows how to make a girl happy. OK, well Melissa George probably isn't particularly happy about it (even if it was her choice), but I sure as heck am. I realize I've been biased against her character, long before Hahn's unceremonious ouster and long before she ever showed up looking for her pal "death," because I really don't like Melissa George as an actress. I've held a grudge against her ever since she and her annoying character basically ruined Alias for me. With that in mind, here are the four reasons we're glad that Ms. George chose (if you choose to believe that) to get the hell out of dodge.

1. One less annoying character!
Since Ghost Denny refuses to die, at least by getting rid of Sadie, and her annoying devil may care attitude, they are making a step in the right direction.

2. No more Death and Die!
It's hard to believe that Meredith and Sadie were ever friends. And even more hard to believe that they gave each other cutesy little nicknames. Now at least we won't be forced to watch awkward scenes between them.

3. Stupid interns can be less stupid!
Without Sadie as their ringleader, the dumb interns can go back to being nameless and faceless accessories that Christina can just call by numbers. Much better that way. No one needs to see the sub characters do something stupid like perform unauthorized surgieries on each other. Save the dumb crap for the residents who don't have storylines and are begging to leave.

4. Callie can finally find a girl worthy of her!
Love Callie no matter if she's into girls or guys, but if she's gonna pick a girl to be with, let is be someone decent. George was too much of a little boy for her. Hahn was never going to be fun enough for the spunky Callie long term. Sadie's always just been a passing fling. She needs a person who can keep up with her intellectually, emotionally and physically. There's got to be someone out there.

Apparently she'll get some sort of a send-off and not just disappear like Hahn did, so she'll be around a little while longer (sadly). What do you think of this news? Happy? Sad? Indifferent?
