Which Shows Should Go Host-Less Like MTV's Video Music Awards?

Our prayers have been answered. After Chelsea Handler proved to be absolutely terrible at last year's Video Music Awards, MTV has decided to ditch tradition and have no host at Sunday night's award ceremony. There are plenty of other shows that we wish would follow this example, as well as a few we hope never try to be as ahem edgy as MTV.

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This Week

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This Week

The Jersey Shore kids don't know which city they're actually in, but a lack of geography knowledge isn't the most reprehensible thing they've ever done, so that's two weeks in a row where they aren't the most disgusting people on the reality planet. That's got to be some kind of record. Here's who did make the list:

It's the week of Jersey Shore and yet those morons weren't the worst people on TV... yet. Let's give them time, shall we? In the meantime, see who did make the cut.

TWoP 10: Stealth Geniuses on Reality TV

On reality television, there is no shortage of people who aren't exactly the brightest bulbs, or who just generally act like idiots in order to gain a little bit of attention. And most of the time, these folks are about as smart as you'd imagine. But lately, we've been noticing a trend of players and personalities who may be cleverer than we might have given them credit for.

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This Week

This week, we'd like to give a special shout-out to Lifetime Television for debuting two new shows with some really awful people. Thanks! That more than makes up for lackluster episodes of The Bachelorette and Celebrity Rehab. Now let's see who the five worst reality TV stars were this week, and decide on a winner, by which we mean loser.

The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This Week

Thanks to the Independence Day holiday, we were free from The Bachelorette idiots and the Real Housewives of New Jersey this week, but there were still plenty of horrible people gracing our televisions. That said, for a change we're going to give a little shout-out to Lindsey on Expedition Impossible, who is probably the least heinous person ever to be on reality television. She got trampled by a camel, didn't whine, got up and then basically dragged her blistered sister up a mountain and through a river. Good going, Linds.

TWoP 10: Shows That Would Be Improved With Zombies

TWoP 10: Shows That Would Be Improved With Zombies

AMC recently cancelled the glacially paced Rubicon, but at least their new show The Walking Dead is off to a great start, with ratings that dwarf anything in the network's history (not to mention plenty of shows on bigger channels). Perhaps if they'd tossed a few undead characters on to Rubicon, it would have gotten a second-season pickup. In fact, almost any program could benefit from an infusion of zombies. Here's our wish list:

TWoP 10 Reasons We're Glad Summer Is Over

TWoP 10 Reasons We're Glad Summer Is Over There are a lot of great things about summer. It's not cold outside anymore, your seasonal depression clears up all on its own, and you can give your Tivo a break because none of the important shows are on for a while! OK, OK, there are a few exceptions, but for every Mad Men there are about a hundred I Love Moneys. Here are the reasons we're most excited for life to get back to normal next month, TV-wise.

TWoP 10 Best Reality TV Smackdowns

TWoP 10 Best Reality TV Smackdowns Realizing that not everyone is a Big Brother junkie like moi, there was a massive verbal battle this week that went from a discussion to getting nearly everyone in the house in a senseless screaming match. It is way beyond convoluted to explain (though M.Giant did a good job attempting to) but it got us thinking about how reality shows are really at their best when people just let their freak flags fly and start swearing or punching. Honestly, we could fill this whole list with stupid stuff that had happened on Big Brother or A Shot at Love but I'm trying hard to give you a little bit of variety here. I'm told that's the spice of life. With that, here are some of the most disgusting or ridiculous squabbles ever to grace the small screen. Though I'm sure this list will be outdated by tomorrow.

Someone At CBS Finally Wised Up

Someone At CBS Finally Wised Up

CBS has been making some smart decisions this week. That person should get a raise. First, they decided to move the not-skeezy-enough-but-still-kind-of-icky Swingtown off to Friday nights, while giving the higher rated Flashpoint a plum spot on Thursday nights. This makes sense, as Flashpoint is a much better fit for the crowded used to watching a procedural like Without a Trace in the post-CSI berth on Thursdays. But then presumably the same scheduling genius decided to movie Big Brother's live evictions back to their rightful home on Thursdays at 8. I'm so happy about this I could do a little dance in my office... but for the sake of those around me I won't. Now if they could just move the Sunday night show back to Saturday, all would be right with the world.
