Look out world -- Josh Gad is moving into the White House.

As if Anne Heche and Matthew Perry weren't enough, NBC is now adding Josh Gad and Justin Kirk to their fall line-up. The network has announced that they've picked up the White House comedy 1600 Penn, starring Bill Pullman, Jenna Eflman and Gad (if you wanna see him in Book of Mormon, get tickets while you can! Just be prepared to pay $1500, plus your firstborn) as well as Animal Practice, which features Kirk as a wacky veterinarian (is there any other kind?). With all these new comedies in the offing, what does it mean for beloved but low-rated shows like Community and Parks and Recreation? Word is that if those sitcoms (along with 30 Rock and Up All Night) return, it'll likely be for a short run of episodes instead of a full season. In other words, the Greendale study group might want to prepare to graduate early.

With House about to depart the airwaves, David E. Kelly is rushing in to fill the medical drama void. The writer/producer has received a greenlight from TNT to start production on Monday Mornings, a Portland, Oregon-based hospital show based on a new book by Sanjay Gupta. Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina, Jamie Bamber and Jennifer Finnigan are part of the ensemble cast. We eagerly await the crossover episode with an older, none-too-wiser Ally McBeal.

Glee star Darren Criss is shooting down rumors that he shot down the opportunity to host The X Factor when it returns in the fall. Because as bad as Glee has gotten of late, even Criss knows that hosting a re-tooled X Factor would be an even more thankless job than singing for Will Schuester.

In what can only be one of the signs of apocalypse, Alex Trebek has said that he may be retiring as the host of Jeopardy in another two years. Wayne Brady, get your audition reel ready now.

Finally, to mark the sad passing of literary giant Maurice Sendak, here's a look back at his epic, two-part interview with Stephen Colbert from back in January. We hope that the irascible author is enjoying a wild rumpus somewhere outside over there.
