Looks like Andy Samberg is getting a badge and a gun.

Fresh off of his exit from Saturday Night Live and his big-screen mega-bomb That's My Boy, Andy Samberg will star in a new Fox sitcom from Parks and Recreation co-creator Mike Schur. The still-untitled series casts Samberg as the lead investigator of a crew of NYPD detectives working at a precinct in a remote pocket of the Big Apple. So it's basically a modern-day Barney Miller, huh? Who's gonna play Fish? And who out there under the age of 30 even gets that reference?

Dexter executive producer Manny Coto has sold ABC on making the cop drama The Defectives, an L.A. set crime story about a female internal affairs officer who rebuilds the same department that she previously exposed as corrupt. If she needs a new blood spatter expert, Coto knows a guy...

Our favorite sailor-turned-castaway Desmond Hume -- or at least his alter ego, Henry Ian Cusick -- will appear on the third season of ABC's Body of Proof as a therapist who helps Dana Delaney's medical examiner through a tough time.

Finally, if you're still mourning tonight's now non-existent Community premiere, the cast has appeared on noted talk show Troy and Abed in the Morning for some words to ease your pain. Happy October 19th to you too, folks. See you soon... we hope.
