Just two guys in need of a new job.

Like the song goes, another one bites the dust. NBC has shut down production on Animal Practice, the sitcom starring a monkey and some guy named Justin Kirk. The beloved NBC comedy Community Whitney will be assuming its timeslot on November 14.

The viewers have spoken and they love them some crazy people. American Horror Story - Asylum premiered to huge numbers last night, nabbing almost 4 million viewers. And if that's not enough, Season 1 star Dylan McDermott will join the inmates in an upcoming episode. Hopefully this time he'll play a character who's not a complete idiot.

In less happy ratings news, ABC's Nashville lost more than 20% of its audience for its second episode. C'mon people! Put aside your country music prejudice and watch this dang show!

More guest star announcements: Donal Logue has booked a gig on Sons of Anarchy as a forcibly retired U.S. Marshal, while Kevin Dunn nabs a job in the White House for Season 2 of Veep, playing the President's new chief of staff. Saving the best for last, George Takei will appear as Daniel Dae Kim's uncle on Hawaii Five-0. We're hoping McGarrett gives us a "Beam 'em up, Danno" to mark the occasion.

As his former series soars in the ratings, fired Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont gets a full-season order for his new period drama, L.A. Noir. Ex-Dead cast members Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn are part of an ensemble that also includes Neal McDonough and Milo Ventimiglia.

Finally, one-time Encino Man Brendan Fraser will headline the TNT-backed pilot Legends, from Homeland's Howard Gordan. Fraser stars as a deep-cover agent of the law whose true identity is under threat of being revealed. We can't wait for the inevitable Pauly Shore cameo.
