Stop or these cartoon police will shoot!

Surprise! Fox has ordered a new animated series that's not a Seth MacFarlane creation (although it is two degrees removed from MacFarlane, as it comes from Family Guy executive producer, David A. Goodman). The network committed to 13 episodes of Murder Police, a cartoon about a crew of inept cops voiced by such actors as Chi McBride, Haratio Sanz and, for some reason, Penny Marshall.

Although its planned Rockford Files reboot didn't work out so well, NBC is developing a modern version of another vintage drama series, Ironside, which starred Raymond Burr as a wheelchair-bound detective. No word on who might play the title character, but after his terrific performance as a paraplegic in The Sessions, John Hawkes should have the inside track.

Canadian refugee Pamela Anderson has returned to her home and native land for a guest star stint in the Citytv sitcom, Package Deal. She'll play a therapist, which makes us fear for the sanity of the patients she's advising.

ABC has announced some of its mid-season moves, with new dramas Zero Hour and Red Window set to debut on February 14 and March 3 respectively. Meanwhile, the Sarah Chalke-led comedy How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) kicks off on April 3. Elsewhere, Body of Proof will be back on Tuesday nights at 10 PM starting in late January, Suburgatory will once again occupy the Wednesday at 8:30 PM slot on April 3.

Still searching for that next breakout drama hit, FX is set to launch the dramatic spy game The Americans, starring Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell as KGB spies posing as an ordinary suburban couple, on January 30. Maybe they can dinner date with the Brodys sometime.
